Marubozu

A bullish marubozu opens at the low (or very near it) and closes at the high with minimal wicks. A bearish marubozu opens at the high and closes at the low. The message is clear: one side dominated the entire period without meaningful rejection.

Marubozu candles often appear on breakouts from consolidation, news-driven impulses, or continuation legs in strong trends. They signal urgency — participants accepted prices quickly in one direction.

Trading marubozu: chasing the close is risky due to extended stops. Manual traders often wait for a shallow pullback to the marubozu midpoint or open on a lower timeframe, then enter with trend if structure holds.

A marubozu against your bias is a warning. A bearish marubozu through support invalidates longs. A bullish marubozu through resistance invalidates shorts. Let them update your level map immediately.

Compare size: a marubozu larger than the average range of the last 20 candles is an expansion candle — significant. A tiny marubozu in chop is low quality.
