Putting It All Together

Before every manual trade, run a consistent checklist. Direction: what is HTF structure — bullish, bearish, or range? Location: is price at a meaningful support/resistance or liquidity zone? Timing: is your setup candle closed, and does session context support the move?

Confirmation: do you see rejection (wicks, engulfing, failed break) or continuation (hold of level, strong close with trend)? Risk: where is structure invalidated — the swing low/high beyond which your idea is wrong? Reward: is there room to the next level, or are you entering into HTF opposition?

Scoring can be simple: require at least three independent reasons (structure + level + candle signal). If you only have one reason ('it looks like it's going up'), pass. Manual trading edge comes from selectivity.

After entry, manage mechanically: stop at invalidation, target at next logical level or partial at 1R. Do not rewrite the story mid-trade because of fear. The chart either confirms with follow-through or hits your stop.

Weekly review ties it together. Which checklist items appeared in winners vs losers? Double down on filters that correlate with success. Chart reading improves through closed-loop review, not through more indicators.
