Inducement (SMC term): an obvious swing or trendline that attracts retail entries/stops before price reverses toward true move. The obvious level is the bait; the move after sweeping it is the intended direction for informed traders.
Manual traders stay skeptical of perfect trendline touches in strong HTF trends — third touch breakouts fail often if liquidity was the goal.
Signs of inducement: very obvious level on social media charts; shallow reaction first touch; violent sweep second touch with reversal.
Do not blame 'smart money' for losses — use inducement as hypothesis to wait for sweep + reclaim before committing.
Combine with structure: inducement into demand zone then CHoCH is high-quality long after fake breakdown.
