Building a Day Trading Playbook

A playbook is your personal manual of setups that you have traded, reviewed, and trust. Each entry describes: market context, trigger pattern, entry method, stop placement, target logic, and when to skip.

Example playbook entries: (1) Pullback long in opening trend above VWAP. (2) Failed breakout short back into range. (3) Liquidity sweep of overnight low then structure reclaim long. (4) Break and retest of prior day high in HTF uptrend.

Playbooks prevent improvisation under stress. When price matches a playbook scenario, you act. When it does not, you watch. Most day traders lose by forcing trades that match no scenario.

Update playbooks quarterly with screenshots and stats. Remove setups that no longer work in current volatility regime; refine triggers that show promise.

Share nothing with hype — your playbook is boring, specific, and testable. That is the point.
